Emotional Fit Project: Fashion Salon

A key element of my role was to plan an innovative and creative dissemination event with the project lead and to then manage the organisation, development and delivery of the event.

I worked with the research participants, to prepare them to display and demonstrate the final outcomes as part of the Emotional Fit: Fashion Salon dissemination event. I also managed the marketing and promotion of the event and communication of the research to a wider audience. As examples, I arranged for information of the research project and dissemination event to be featured on the Fashion Revolution website and worked with the Communications department, to achieve coverage of the salon event by Notts TV and local BBC radio. Working jointly with the project lead and the Marketing department, I prepared copy and images for the University website. I also ensured that the university’s institutional repository was up to date, with all work related to the Emotional Fit project, which ranged from journal articles and conference contributions to digital and visual media.

I was then involved with the application for a paper presentation and to exhibit outcomes from the project at the INTERSECTIONS conference and exhibition of work, at Loughborough University in London, with the theme of Collaborations in Textile Design Research. This application was successful and I then gained experience of assisting in the development and production of an exhibition display of the collection.
