Katherine West - Portfolio 

The final piece of the 'Mona Collection for Cookie West' was the 'Nightwear with Secret Support'. I designed a short length chemise with hidden, in-built bust support. It was made from a lightweight, soft, moulded bra structure, with power mesh wings that fastened with a hook and eye; gently supporting the bust and completely concealed within the garment. As with the other pieces in the collection it was available in the different body and cup sizes, to allow a comfortable and flattering fit.

This design was then developed to give two lengths and the option of another colourway (the duck egg green pictured below) and was produced at a local CMT unit and retailed through Cookie West Showroom. All the fabrics and trims were from a supplier who held stock of 'end of line' materials from established contour brands. I then designed a number of small collections of nightwear and soft lingerie pieces to sell at the Showroom. Pieces were designed and developed through taking a creative, upcycling approach and putting these 'end of line' fabrics and trims together in new garment styles.
